SAND: Orphaned as a child, Sanderson Hawkins was adopted by Wesley Dobbs, the Golden Age Sandman. Calling himself Sandy the Golden Boy, Hawkins became the Sandman's loyal sidekick. After being turned into a silicone-based monster, Sanderson was rescued by his mentor and the Justice League and discovered he had the ability to turn his body into sand as well as other powers over earth. After the death of Dodds, Sanderson has inherited his mentor's prophetic dreams. Donning a gas mask and armed with a gas gun similar to Dodds', he has taken on the name Sand. |

THE FLASH: In the 1940s, college student Jay Garrick accidentally inhaled heavy water vapors after falling asleep in his laboratory where he had been smoking. When Jay awoke, he discovered he possessed superhuman speed and reflexes. After a brief career as a college football star, Jay chose to use his powers for a greater calling and became the first man to call himself the Flash. Through the use of several accidental anti-aging treatments, Jay appears to only be in his early fifties when in reality, he should be in his eighties. |

CAPTAIN MARVEL: After his parents were killed by Black Adam, young Billy Batson was brought to the wizard, Shazam, by a dark-clothed stranger. The wizard gave Billy the ability to transform into Captain Marvel by shouting out "SHAZAM!" This grants Billy the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury. As Captain Marvel, Billy appears to be a young man in his twenties or thirties when in reality, he's only a teenage boy. |

DOCTOR MID-NITE: While running a free clinic in Portsmouth City, Pieter Cross investigated a new street drug called A39, a derivative of Venom, produced by Praeda Industries. In retaliation, the company drugged Cross and he was involved in a car accident which claimed the life of a young woman. After the accident, Cross discovered he possessed perfect night-vision, but could only see in pitch-black. Armed with special lenses, high-tech medical equipment and various other weapons, he became the second Doctor Mid-Nite. |

ATOM SMASHER: The godson of Al Pratt, the Golden Age Atom, Albert Rothstein gained superhuman strength and the ability to alter his molecular structure from his grandfather, the reluctant villain called Cyclotron. Choosing to follow in his godfather's footsteps, Rothstein became the superhero called Nuklon and served in the Justice League and was also a founding member of Infinity Inc. Since then, in honor of his godfather, Rothstein has taken on the identity of Atom Smasher. |

STAR-SPANGLED KID: Courtney Whitmore is the step-daughter of Pat Dugan, the man who once called himself Stripesy, the sidekick to the original Star-Spangled Kid. Courtney discovered the Star-Spangled Kid's equipment among Dugan's belongings and became the second Star-Spangled Kid. After being given the Cosmic Convertor Belt and the Cosmic Rod by Jack Knight, the Starman, Courtney changed her name to Stargirl. Courtney's weapons give her various powers, including superhuman strength, agility, flight and the abilities to fire blinding stars that cause low-grade explosions and the projection of solid light constructs. |
