Thinking about submitting a proposal for an available series here at DC Omega? Well... hold on a minute! There are some things you need to know first. There are guidelines for submissions, specifically a list of things you need to include with it. They are as follows:

1) An introduction explaining the basics of what you want to do with the series (this does not have to be long).

2) Complete cast of characters you want to use (including villains and guest stars).

3) Plots for the first twelve issues of the series. They don't have to incredibly detailed, but there needs to be a clear indication of what's going to happen. For limited series, please submit an outline for the entire series.

4) A sample of your writing (a link to a story is fine).

5) What imprint your title will fall in (DCU for stories set in the mainstream DC Universe, Vertigo for mature readers titles as well as creator-owned titles, and Wildstorm for stories set in the Wildstorm Universe).

6) Specify whether you are writing an ongoing title or a limited series.

Approval of any proposal is contingent upon its plots and concepts fitting into the DC Omega universe so as to not disrupt or contradict anything occurring or to occur in any other series. We take our continuity very seriously here! You will receive a response to your proposal within a week, and be sure not to fret if you initially are turned down - we will work with potential writers to shape their proposals to fit better into our group.

If you are not interested in an ongoing title or limited series, you can write a story for our anthology title, Showcase.

We are accepting proposals for titles which are out of continuity, but only for our Vertigo and Wildstorm imprints. We are not interested in Elseworlds tales. Vertigo is open for books which have a history with Vertigo (i.e. Hellblazer, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Animal Man). In addition, there's also what we have referred to as the Vertigo Challenge. This is when a writer can e-mail the editor and request an obscure character to revamp (along the lines of what Neil Gaiman did with Sandman and what Peter Milligan did with Shade, the Changing Man). Writers should flex their creative muscles with the Vertigo Challenge, however. If we give you a character to revamp for Vertigo, we expect it to be worthy of the Vertigo label. That means it has to be a mature readers title (and by mature, we don't mean just using gratuitous sex, violence and language). The Vertigo Challenge is not a way to bypass the submission guidelines. Writers will still be required to submit a proposal in adherence to the guidelines outlined above—the Vertigo Challenge is just intended to give writers a starting point for their ideas.

Vertigo is also open to creator-owned titles which do not need any ties to the DCU at all. Onyx Revolver, for example, is a creator-owned title that does not occur within the shared continuity of the DCU. You may also opt to revamp older Wildstorm properties (similar to Joe Casey's work on Wildcats or Micah Ian Wright's Stormwatch: Team Achilles). Titles which were part of Wildstorm's Cliffhanger imprint are available as well (Battle Chasers, Crimson, etc.), as are titles such as Automatic Kafka, which were set outside Wildstorm continuity.

Please make sure to check the dibs list and the FAQ - be sure to familiarize yourself with the group before you go working on a prop. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask! You can submit all questions, concerns, and proposals to the editor, Dino Pollard, at dinopollard@yahoo.com. All proposals must be e-mailed along with a writing sample! No proposals will be accepted through instant messaging or message board private messaging.
